Damp.

Damp, to put it mildly. Incessant, driving, unrelenting rain greeted daybreak today, coupled with high winds, making any realistic and sane notion of wandering about taking pictures extremely unlikely.

However, even in the most unlikely of weather it’s likely you’ll find something to photograph but ‘ if you don’t go, you’ll never know’, so this afternoon I ventured forth more in hope than anger. I had an idea in mind which might lend itself to illustrating the conditions but try as I might I couldn’t find suitable subjects for love nor money and, despite the often dramatic weather of this morning, the afternoon conditions petered out to an uninspiring mishmash of grey insipidness.

That said, the miserable weather provided an ideal excuse to escape to the relative warmth and comfort of the local bakery, there’s always coffee, cake as well if you feel so inclined, or any other number of sweet and savoury treats, we’re blessed with an excellent local baker, a haven, a godsend to locals, travellers and photographers alike, tomorrow can wait.

Salvation!
